3D Games Review By Mike Matei

Michael "Mike" Matei is an executive producer for Cinemassacre Productions. CONTENT: If you're looking at this set, you know who the Angry VideoGame Nerd is. This is the same content online, just packed onto a Blu-Ray set and loaded with extras. Anyway, Mike is and always has been the glue that held Cinemassacre together, and personally, I love his videos and his characters.

We since then, there has been a serious split, about people who can't stand it and people who understand that James is ing busy doing his movie, so he offered Mike to take over the channel. The show revolves around the Nerd's commentary of old and typically commercially unsuccessful video games which he deems to be of particularly low-quality, unfair difficulty or poor design.

The AVGN reviews Home Alone 2: Lost in New York (NES), Shaq Fu (SNES), Far Cry Vengeance (Wii), Super Monkey Ball: Banana Blitz (Wii), and Boogie (Wii). During their playthrough of Sonic '06 , Game Grumps went on an extended riff about Matei's simple style of comedy (shown below).

Despite this, in August 2012 Mike found out about this guy and decided to proclaim that those French reviews are basically ripping off James' act. And Matei has earned a huge fanbase of his own doing reviews of obscure games. With the hype of future Zelda games, sometimes it's easy to forget where the series began.

Richard: I recall either you or James mentioning how in the earlier stages of the Angry Video Game Nerd (AVGN) , you were not so comfortable being on camera, yet would agree to show up in costume as guest characters such as Bugs Bunny or The Joker and so on.

The AVGN reviews pornographic games that were developed for Atari 2600: Custer's Mike Matei Revenge, Beat 'Em & Eat 'Em, Bachelorette Party, Bachelor Party, Gigolo, Philly Flasher, Cathouse Blues, Knight on the Town, Jungle Fever. It's watching an episode of AVGN but as the length of a movie, as the name implies.

The video quality is about what you'd expect from YouTube, however, this set is far better simply for the fact that you don't have to deal with YouTube's cumbersome interface, ads, and the random pixilation that sometimes occurs during YouTube videos.

If Nintendo decided to make Zelda Kart”, where the whole game was just Zelda characters racing around, I think it would expletive me off. I've been playing Megaman games religiously since 2 came out when I was 6 years old, so when Capcom announced they were releasing 9 in old 8 bit fashion I lost my shit.

Well, Zelda is my favorite video game franchise. Pretty much every major game review show online today has AVGN” to thank for establishing its format.
